On March 31, 2025, Allegro, Poland's leading e-commerce platform, announced the appointment of Marcin Kuśmierz as its new CEO, effective May 5, 2025. With over 25 years of expertise across the technology, e-commerce, fintech, and AI industries, Kuśmierz steps into a role that marks a significant milestone in Allegro’s development. He takes over from Roy Perticucci, who will transition to a Special Advisor role within the Allegro Group, ensuring a smooth and structured handover of responsibilities.

A Proven Leader with a Vision for Allegro’s Future

Marcin Kuśmierz brings a wealth of experience to the role, having successfully led multiple high-profile companies. He began his career by founding a regional web hosting company, which was later sold to home.pl. His journey continued at ITI Group, where he played a pivotal role in the development of mobile services and research, bringing cutting-edge technologies to the region.

Kuśmierz’s leadership at home.pl, where he served as CEO and later as a shareholder, led the company to become the number one web hosting provider in Central and Eastern Europe. His success at home.pl continued at IONOS, where he managed emerging markets and expanded the company’s portfolio of small and medium enterprise applications. In 2021, Kuśmierz became the CEO of Shoper, propelling the platform to a successful debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and achieving significant growth in the CEE e-commerce sector.

Kuśmierz’s entrepreneurial spirit and investment savvy have also led him to invest in payment, logistics, cloud, and AI companies in recent years. Known for his commitment to building values-driven companies, Kuśmierz believes that a strong company culture is the key to fostering innovation and achieving long-term success.

What to Expect Under Kuśmierz’s Leadership

Kuśmierz is excited to lead Allegro through its next phase of growth and innovation. In a statement, he shared his vision for the company, emphasizing the importance of an inclusive and open organizational culture. "My ambition is for Allegro to become the chosen e-commerce platform for many more consumers and merchants. I am confident we can do this while cherishing our heritage and leveraging the creative and innovative work of talented individuals across Poland and Central and Eastern Europe."

Kuśmierz’s leadership will build on Allegro’s impressive growth trajectory. In 2024, Allegro’s gross merchandise value (GMV) grew by 9.6% year-on-year, with a 17.9% increase in adjusted EBITDA, driven by strong performance in Poland and expanding operations outside the country. The platform now boasts 21 million active shoppers, with 6 million on platforms outside Poland.

Allegro’s Continued Impact on the Region

Founded in Poland 25 years ago, Allegro has established itself as the leading online marketplace in Central and Eastern Europe. The company has become a cornerstone of the Polish economy, contributing around 1% of the country’s GDP and employing 1% of the workforce. With Marcin Kuśmierz at the helm, Allegro aims to extend its success across the European Union and beyond, striving to become the most loved online shopping destination in Europe.

As Kuśmierz takes the reins, Allegro is poised to continue its journey as a dynamic force in e-commerce, embracing innovation while staying true to its core values of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. With his extensive experience and forward-thinking vision, Allegro is ready to face new challenges and explore fresh opportunities in the ever-evolving world of online commerce.
