Gmail Adds Purchase Tracking View And Smarter Promotions Tab

Google is rolling out new updates in Gmail designed to help users better manage purchases and discover timely deals as the holiday season approaches.
A New Way To Track Purchases And Deliveries
The biggest change is the new purchase tracking view. Instead of digging through emails, users will now see all their purchase receipts and delivery updates organized in one place. This makes it easier to keep track of upcoming shipments, while packages set to arrive within 24 hours will still be highlighted at the top of the inbox.
The feature is rolling out globally on both mobile and web for personal Google accounts starting this week.
Promotions Tab Becomes Smarter
Gmail is also refreshing the Promotions tab. Emails can now be sorted by “most relevant,” highlighting updates from brands users interact with most. A new set of nudges will surface personalized offers and upcoming deals so that important promotions don’t get lost in the clutter.

For those who prefer the old setup, Gmail still allows sorting by “most recent” instead. The updated Promotions experience will be available in the coming weeks on mobile for personal Google accounts.
