Amazon is making product discovery faster with the launch of Lens Live, a real-time visual search tool integrated into the Amazon Shopping app. The feature instantly scans products and presents top matches in a swipeable carousel, making it easier for customers to find items they spot in everyday life or on social media.

AI-Powered Shopping With Rufus

Lens Live is directly connected to Amazon’s AI shopping assistant, Rufus, which now provides quick product insights, summaries, and answers to common questions within the camera view. Shoppers can tap to focus on a specific product, add it to their cart, or save it to a wishlist—all without leaving the camera screen.

How It Works

Lens Live leverages computer vision and deep learning models deployed via AWS to identify and match products in real time. It automatically detects primary objects in view and compares them against billions of items in Amazon’s catalog, ensuring precise recommendations.

Rollout Plans

The feature is already available for tens of millions of U.S. iOS users and will gradually expand to all U.S. customers in the coming months. Traditional Lens features, such as barcode scanning and image uploads, remain available alongside the new real-time functionality.

Amazon says Lens Live is just the beginning, with plans to further enhance how customers search and shop using AI-powered visual tools.
